Founded by Chef Mike Hartley and Miriam Leek-Meira, Yuma HTX grew from a shared love of culture, flavor, and craft. Mike’s background as an executive sous-chef in Houston’s fine-dining scene gave him a deep appreciation for technique and balance, while Miriam brought an eye for storytelling and hospitality rooted in the city’s creative community. Together, they set out to reimagine the Cuban sandwich as a canvas for expression, drawing inspiration from the flavors of Brazil, the Caribbean, and the city they call home. Yuma is their shared journey made edible.
